An engaging, and well-loved early Steiff Bully Dog, with 'ff' earbutton, Ambros is now fairly bald, though some of his bright orange mohair remains. He's all original and 15 cms (6") tall and 23 cms (9") long, with a swivel head and wired legs and ears.
Stuffed with woodwool, he has back-painted amber glass eyes and a black-stitched nose. His velvet muzzle is surface worn, and there's a couple of small darned repairs either side of his forelegs, along with overall staining to his body. His squeaker no longer works, but with such a plaintive expression, he doesn't need to growl.
Ambros is wearing his ruffle collar, and is an affectionate companion as long as you play ball! His name is the German form of Latin Abrosius, meaning 'immortal'.
