Harold
A wounded WW1 Farnell soldier bear c.1918, alas poor Harold lost both his ears in combat, along with much of his fur. An arm too was injured and needed stitches - a makeshift job carried out in haste at the army hospital!

Also, while in the trenches, he contracted a rust disease, probably from the metal pins holding his joints in place. To cap it all, he limped home with a wire jutting from his left foot.

Yet our brave little hero has retained his glass eyes and is fully-agile for his age. Stuffed with woodwool, Harold is 9 cms (3.5") tall, and now has an important job as a Yeomen Warder - more popularly known as a Beefeater - ceremoniously guarding the Tower of London.

All Yeomen Warders are retired from the Armed Forces, and they first started guarding the Tower in 1485. When the sovereign visits the Tower, or the warders are on duty at a state occasion, they wear red and gold uniforms similar to Harold's. He also brings with him his memorabilia - an old London Tower badge, miniature enamel sign, and used postcard dated 15th August 1918, with a handwritten mesage on the back.

HAROLD IS 165 GBP, 254 USD, 200 EUR
