Dora
A wonderful, and really quite rare, gold artsilk plush Dean's Rag Book teddy bear c.1930s, Dora is all orginal with a loud working squeaker, that sounds rather like a demented duck!

Loved to baldness on her face, she's 41 cms (16") tall, with back-painted glass eyes (now clear), and a black-stitched nose and mouth.

Stuffed with kapok (head woodwool), all her joints work fine, and she has velvet pads in good condition, apart from one paw which is surface worn with a couple of small holes. There's a small darn just below one ear, which is also a little threadbare.
All her claws are intact and, except for her head, Dora has kept most of her silky soft fur.

Wearing her vintage cotton dress and linen sailor jacket, plus hat with old enamel Ladies Lifeboat Guild badge, Dora is a delightful character with a great expression. Her name is short for Gaelic Doreen, meaning 'golden girl'.

DORA IS 230 GBP, 350 USD, 259 EUR
