Geoffrey Chadcott
Here's budding batsman Geoffrey Chadcott, a charming curly mohair Chad Valley teddy with chest seam label and 'By Royal Appointment to HM The Queen...' footlabel, now very faded, but dating him to pre-1953.
Geoffrey is 38 cms (15") tall, with original bulbous bound nose and mouth stitching, and three original felt pads - one paw has been recovered in the past using closely matching felt. His back-painted glass eyes are replacements too.
Stuffed with kapok, he's fully-jointed and although his growler no longer works, he's retained virtually all of his fur. Apart from a small hole in one footpad, he's in great athletic shape.
Geoffrey is wearing his handknitted cricketer's ensemble, complete with shinpads, and a vintage 'Junior Captain' enamel badge plus whistle. He's a super character with a wonderful 'silly mid-on' expression!
