Wynne
An absolutely wonderful, 1930s Merrythought character with rusted earbutton and embroidered footlabel, Wynne is 36 cms (14") tall, and has been restored in the past, including her felt pads and webbed claws, all very well done. Her clear glass eyes might also be replacements, along with her nose and mouth stitching.
Stuffed with kapok and fully-jointed, she has lots of curly blonde mohair, though the left side of her face is now bald, and her chest patchy. There's a silent squeaker in her tummy, but her wide expressive grin more than compensates.
Wynne is a really endearing bear, and we've nicknamed her 'the crochet queen' on account of her passion for knitwear, and vintage badge saying 'Try it...you'll like it'. Her name is Celtic for 'Fair, white maiden'.
