Baby Bruns
An engaging, brown mohair Steiff Teddy Baby c.1930s (no button), Bruns is 18 cms (7") tall, and has been lovingly restored in the past. His glass eyes are old replacements, and his inset muzzle is recovered with antique velvet, also used to recover his downturned paw pads. His worn out feet were recovered in antique linen, and his nose re-stitched. All very well done!
Fully-jointed and stuffed mostly with woodwool, Baby Bruns' open-mouth is still lined with original velvet, now slightly worn and discoloured. He has a non-working side squeaker and, although fairly balding, a covering of fur remains, especially at the back.
This adorable old bear cub comes dressed in his knitted cotton bathers and also still wears his original red leather bell collar. The name Bruns is a form of German Bruno meaning brown.
