Baby Harry
This impossibly cute little bear is a rare 1930s Chad Valley Cubby with red embroidered leg label. Made of silky soft, alpaca plush, he's just 22 cms (8.5") high in his fixed seated position, and has a swivel head and jointed arms with cute, downturned paws.
Harry is all original except for replaced felt paw pads. Stuffed with kapok, his eyes are amber glass, and he has a black-stitched nose and mouth. His footpads have been copiously darned some years ago,and also patched, but all his foot claws are intact. There's a silent squeaker in his tummy, and he's kept about 85% of his fur.
An adorable bear cub, Harry is wearing his handknitted dungarees and gros gain neck ribbon with Victorian rose gold Baby brooch. He's as sweet as honey.
