Find antique Steiff bear with earbutton at Old Bears Network

This sweet as honey, humpbacked Steiff girl still has her precious earbutton c.1908. She's 30 cms (12") tall, with lots of gold mohair for such an early teddy. She has original shoebutton eyes, and an old restored brown-stitched nose and mouth. They should actually be black to match her original claws, but we like the contrast!

Alicia is fully-jointed and filled with woodwool. Her pads are old felt replacements, and she's kept most of her claws. Apart from a tiny darn to her left arm, and a small one close to her heel, and right wrist, she's a good strong bear, if a little slumpy where the stuffing has settled around her neck, and the tops of her arms.

Alicia has retained about 80% of her fur, and is wearing her pretty Victorian cotton pinafore dress, with vintage bloomers, necklace and silk ribbon. Her name is a variation of Alice, which is from the Old German meaning 'noble'.
