Find Mookah, rare antique Steiff monkey c.1904 at Old Bears Network

An adorable, rare early Steiff monkey c.1904 (no button). All original, and fully-jointed, Mookah is 43 cms (17") tall, and has kept about 70% of her brown mohair, with good coverage at the back.

Filled with woodwool, she has shoebutton eyes, and a worn velvet face, with a few small holes. Her ears are also velvet, and equally surface worn, and there's a tiny hole where her button would have been.

Mookah's poor feet have suffered during her very long life, and are showing stuffing, but she wears a pair of gorgeous suede shoes to protect them. Her hands are in better shape, though still worn, and wire is jutting from one palm. There's a small repair to her chest where her non-working squeaker is located. She also has a slightly wobbly head.

Mookah is a wonderful character, with the sweetest expression. She's wearing her old silky-taffeta coat, decorated with 'pearls', and a vintage 'pearl' brooch.
