An adorable, gold mohair, humpbacked American gal c.1907, with a happy, smiling face, Abey is 36 cms (14") tall, and filled with a mix of cork and woodwool. She has top-stitched seams, typical of early American bears, and is original except for very old replaced pads.
Fully-jointed, she has tiny amber glass eyes and a brown-stitched nose and mouth. There's a non-working squeaker, and one of her ears has been re-attached and the other secured.
Abey has kept virtually all of her fur and is wearing her pretty sailor jacket and hat. She's a sweetheart! Her name is Native American meaning 'leaf'.
