Adela
A truly pretty, humpbacked blonde mohair Steiff girl with earbutton (rusty) c.1920s, Adela is more or less bald, with only a tuft of fur sprouting from her chest seam. She's 28cms (11") tall, with original brown-painted glass eyes.
Fully-jointed and filled with woodwool, Adela has a restored, tan stitched nose and mouth, and replaced felt pads. There's also a non-working squeaker.
Despite her lack of fur, she's a strong old bear, with a lovely protruding muzzle, and is wearing her gorgeous, antique silk velvet jacket trimmed with fur, and a 1930s crepe dress, plus straw hat. Her name is from the Old German meaning 'noble'.
