Ruford
This gorgeous humpbacked teddy is a wonderful, artsilk plush Chad Valley boy c.1930s. He's the most delicious colour (much better than our photos!) - a rich caramel bordering on cinnamon, and he's kept virtually all of his fur. He's 38 cms (15") tall, with a typical shaved muzzle of the period.
Fully-jointed and filled with kapok, Ruford has vintage, amber glass replacement eyes, and an original black-stitched nose and mouth. His pads are felt replacements and he has a full set of claws, plus a non-working squeaker.
It's rare to find an early artsilk teddy with such good colour and fur retention. Ruford is wearing his old knitted cardi and neck ribbon. His name is Old English meaning 'from the red ford'.
RUFORD IS £235 GBP, 466 USD, 306 EUR
