Master Biggins
This wonderful, humpbacked gentle giant of a bear is a Chad Valley Peacock with celluloid earbutton and red embroidered footlabel c.1930s. He's an impressive 69 cms (27") tall, with original nose stitching and cloth pads, and a typical shaved muzzle.
Fully-jointed and filled with kapok, Biggins has replaced amber glass eyes and a restored mouth. His linen pads have patches of fading and a few small repairs, but are in reasonable condition. Both wrist seams have been resewn, and the stuffing has settled in both arms, so they're a bit floppy.
Biggins has kept about 70% of his gold mohair, with overall thinning and some loss to his face. We think he has a non-working squeaker, as there's something crackling in his torso. He also has a few claws remaining.
Wearing his cotton T-shirt and cord dungarees, with Vice Captain badge, and old college scarf, Biggins is oner big, huggy bear.
