Find rare antique American mohair bear at Old Bears Network

A wonderful, early rare American 'top-stitch' novelty bear c.1920s, with a squeaker in each ear, as well as her torso. None of them work anymore, but Lomasi more than compensates with her gorgeous face and glorious bright gold mohair.

All original and 38 cms (15") tall, she has huge clear glass eyes, a twill nose and stitched mouth. Her pads are felt, and two have pinprick holes, but her others show only minor wear. She has a full set of claws, and delightful pointed feet. Apart from a bald patch to the back of her right thigh, she's kept virtually all her fur.

Lomasi is fully-jointed and filled with a mix of kapok and woodwool. Wearing her vintage voile dress, she's a strong old bear and a great character. Her name is Native American, meaning 'pretty flower'.
