Find Maurice, antique humpbacked French teddy at Old Bears Network

This very well-loved, humpbacked French boy c.1920s, has only a sprinkling of gold mohair remaining, including a whiskery jaw. But he's a lovely colour, and is all original except for old replaced felt pads.

Fully-jointed and filled with woodwool, Maurice is 46 cms (18") tall, with shoebutton eyes and a black-stitched nose and mouth. He has a few small repairs, including one to his ear, which is likely to have once held a Fadap button. His most embarrassing secret, however, is the presence of turquoise-dyed fur on his behind and the backs of his thighs, which came off a pair of old shorts he was wearing when he arrived. We've cleaned him, but it won't budge.

Happily, Maurice is now wearing his cute Bruin Knits outfit, and old French enamel sweetheart brooch. He's a charming teddy,
with a great face.
