Miss Treacle
This darling humpbacked Steiff girl is a rare artsilk plush teddy c.late 1930s/early 40s. She's lost her earbutton, but has a strong working squeaker, and is original except for old replaced felt pads.

For an early artsilk bear, Miss Treacle is in amazing condition, having kept almost all of her fur, which is a yummy, treacle- brown colour. Steiff only made artsilk teddies for a limited time during the Second World War, when traditional mohair was scarce.

She's fully-jointed, filled with woodwool, and has back-painted brown glass eyes, and a black-stitched nose and mouth, plus a full set of claws. Standing 30cms (12") tall, she has two small balding patches on her lower back, and slight loss of fur around her nose and one shoulder.

Wearing her gorgeous, handmade mint green voile embroidered dress, Miss Treacle also brings her bucket of flowers with her, along with a somewhat perplexed expression!

MISS TREACLE IS 395 GBP, 779 USD, 532 EUR
