Azzo
oldbearsnetwork135001.jpg
This adorable, much-loved centre seam Steiff boy c.1908, may not have much of his rare apricot mohair remaining, but he's managed to hang on to his 'ff' button.
He's 40 cms (16") tall, with all his original features, including shoebutton eyes, and an impressive humped back.

Fully-jointed and filled with woodwool, Azzo's had some kapok added to the tops of his arms at some point. His black- stitched nose is missing a few threads, showing the felt backing, and three of his felt pads have old patched repairs. He's kept all but two of his claws, and has a non-working tilt growler.

His muzzle has slightly blackened with age, and there's a couple of old repairs to his left arm, but on the whole he's a remarkably sturdy character. Wearing his cute antique pom-pom outfit, Azzo is such an endearing bear with a heartmelting expression. His name is Old German meaning 'noble at birth'.
