Villette
An enchanting, humpbacked Pintel bear c.1925, with a set-in muzzle of clipped mohair, and filled mostly with kapok (head woodwool), making her soft and cuddly, unlike many traditional French bears.

Villette is 40 cms (16") tall and fully-jointed with original back-painted glass eyes, though most has worn off, and original black-stitched nose and mouth. Her pads are old fabric replacements, and one ear has been re-attached.

Her fur has some faint blue tinges here and there which, despite being cleaned, haven't completely vanished. She's kept about 70% of her gold mohair, with most loss to her torso. There's also a spot of old dried glue behind one eye.

Wearing her antique cotton dress and 1930s French cotton pique jacket with old picture brooch, Villette is a wonderful character with a typically-French expresion. Her name means 'from the village'.
VILLETTE IS 265 GBP, 526 USD, 356 EUR
